All our meetings are open to family members and carers of an autistic child or young person.
You are welcome to join our groups as you wish and you do not have to attend regularly to be part of the group.
At each venue for our different support groups there is plenty of available free parking, but a contribution of £1 to the branch towards the cost of beverages and hiring the room would be very welcome. If you need any assistance or support to attend a meeting, please contact the branch and we will help in any way we can.
Some feedback about our support groups:
"Families with children who have a disability or special needs have considerable concerns and often need a great deal of information: information about the disability of their child, about school services, local policies, funding sources, transportation, medical facilities, and much more.
Many parents and carers find it very useful to join our support groups, where they can meet other families with similar needs. Support groups can serve many purposes, but primarily they offer parents a place and a means to share information, give and receive emotional support, and work as a team to address common concerns.
The group may benefit from invited speakers who are experts on a wide variety of topics to speak at their meetings. This information is invaluable for "new families" who have just learned of their child's disability and continues to be useful to families as their needs change through the years."
We currently offer an evening support group on a monthly basis.
